The Executive Board and the Staff will be available to meet, greet and talk to you concerning what we will be doing for the remainder of the year and beyond. It is our hope that the volunteers who are interested in reconnecting with Project Impact will be on hand. This would be a good time to attach yourself to a project.

Mentoring and Advocacy

Mentors, have given any thought to your goals for the Mentoring Program this fall? Well, you have a few weeks to prepare, because goal setting must begin with each of us as Mentors. Positive, obtainable goals are important in each of our lives and certainly play a great role in our mentoring successes.

The one goal that you have each set is indicated by the faithfulness you have concerning the development of our youth. Our new mentees will undoubtedly present fresh situations for us to ponder, which will probably strengthen your desires to make a positive change in their life by stressing goal changes that will result in a favorable productive future.

The first goal you as a mentor should try to convey to your mentee, is the importance of being committed to the program. Their successfulness will grow once they realize that we are here for them - No Tricks! No Games! - just an honest and sincere interest in their well being.

Our new group structuring will help each of us as mentors by providing on the spot support during our sessions. We will have each others back, so that no one feels they’ve been left hanging.

So we’re ready, and we can’t wait! Good positive upbeat attitudes - KEEP THE SPIRIT!!!

Volunteers are encouraged to update their status.

Slowly but Surely.

We are getting settled into the Impact way. It is our dream to make this corner a power house for healing our young people. But this will take not only some new positioning but a lot of PR to let agencies and groups know that we are ready to move to the next level.

Will you carry the message to people in need? Will you tell someone about our programs?

Juvenile Diversion / Parenting Seminar

Hello Project Impact Extended Family Members!

We are nearing the completion of our summer session of the Juvenile Diversion Program. We have had strong attendance from both parents and youth. I have been pleasantly surprised that several of the youth have brought friends with them to the meetings. I see this as a positive for Project Impact because these teens are not only enjoying and learning from the program, but they are also ambassadors spreading the word! I would also like to share with you the fact that while these families are experiencing troublesome times, they all state that their faith and belief in the Lord as the motivation and strength to seek help. Let us keep these families in our prayers.

As family issues and concerns change, so will the need arise for program development. It is my hope that Project Impact will help address those needs. Please contact me on ideas and suggestions you may feel will enhance the services we provide and continue to spread the good word!
