Project IMPACT - Dayton, Inc. is a Comprehensive Juvenile Diversion/Family Intervention Program that serves primarily "high-risk" youth and their families.  Services include, but are not limited to diversion counseling/consultation, school dropout prevention, parent education, youth development and family enhancement activities.  It is a family focused program, which engages the entire family, regardless of size, in a holistic life skill building process for success.  The program addresses attitudes and behaviors that contribute to truancy, violence, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, child maltreatment and other destructive behaviors.

Project IMPACT - Dayton was established May 1993 as the Project IMPACT-USA's first satellite outside the State California. The program was developed in response to the "felt need" to rescue the children in Dayton, Ohio from destructive and life threatening activities.  Satelliting of Project IMPACT - Dayton actually formalized a successful youth/family intervention and support efforts which had been offered by a local church for over 5 years.  It also linked the church with the formal health and human services system to address the growing needs of youth at-risk.  The Dayton satellite is now independently incorporated.

In 1994, Project IMPACT - Dayton's Truancy Prevention Program was established to address the growing program of truancy in the Montgomery County, particularly among elementary aged children living in the inner city.  Parents of truants and their families are exposed to skill building exercises and activities that foster self-empowerment, increase awareness and knowledge, as well as provide them with a sense of competency to become involved in their children's educational, personal and social lives.  The Truancy Prevention Program has been highly recognized for its program outcomes.

Project IMPACT - Dayton has touched many lives since its grand opening in May 1993.  We have invested life-changing principles into the lives of more that 1,500 youth and their families.

We firmly believe that, in the sprit of love, we can empower and equip families to combat the effects of violence, substance abuse, juvenile delinquency and truancy.  The results of this work will change the course of generation and set precedence for generations to come.
