In 1994 Light of the
World Christian Church under the leadership of Bishop T. Garrott, Benjamin, Jr.,
joined Project IMPACT USA as an Affiliate Center to save our children and
families and reduce violence in our community. Since our inception, we have served
over 550 youth and their families by providing them direct services designed to reverse
the rising tide of violence and incarceration, particularly among disadvantaged youth,
that continues to plague our nation.
The
mission of Project IMPACT - Indianapolis is to foster, and build upon,
collaborations between Church, Schools, Community, and Juvenile Justice, by providing
comprehensive delinquency prevention/intervention services designed to build and restore
the family unit." |

training and counseling services Project IMPACT - Indianapolis
provides includes:
Counseling -
one-on-one and group, ADHD, Alcohol and Drug Addiction;
Life/Social Skills
- Time Management, Goal Setting, Conflict Resolution;
Job Readiness
Skills - Interviewing, Resume Development, Job Search;
School Drop-Out
Prevention - Remediation, Tutoring, Grade and Attendance Monitoring & Evaluation;
Mentoring

At Project IMPACT-Indianapolis,
we firmly believe that kids can be involved in structured activities and have fun, while
staying out of trouble, and learning skills that will help mold them into productive
adults. Project IMPACT-Indianapolis is committed to the struggle of
keeping and/or getting our youth on track. We firmly believe that disadvantaged youth, if
given an opportunity to succeed can, and will succeed. |
