It is our goal that all children have a quality education.

Why Your Child Needs FREE Tutoring

All California students are required to take an annual standardized test. These tests help show a student’s learning progress compared to others in their grade. Project IMPACT helps students, just like yours, to succeed at these important tests by offering free tutoring through No Child Left Behind and other Supplemental Educational Services programs. Who are the Project IMPACT Staff

 
All IMPACT instructors of tutors are experienced professional teachers with Master and Bachelor-level degrees, credentialed and CBEST certified. Our instructors are currently teaching in local school districts that provide training in instruction and in diagnosing students’ individual needs. Our IMPACT tutors have each been personally trained to help assist students with low grades and low test scores.

Project IMPACT currently has 38 employees . Of these, 20 staff members can provide one-on-one instruction to at least 10 students as appropriate for the students’ needs . Project IMPACT conducts back ground checks on all employees before hiring them.

Why Your Child Needs FREE Tutoring

At some point in life, everyone needs a little extra care, direction and guidance. Regardless of who you are or what your life situation is all about, there will be times when you need to reach out to someone for support. This is where Project IMPACT can make a huge difference for you and your family. For nearly 25 years, we have offered people just like you opportunities to receive free support and guidance. These services are available on an individual or small group basis depending on your needs and the personal program we design for you.

Who are the Project IMPACT Counselors? Project IMPACT counselors are trained professionals… How Our FREE Counseling and Wellness Care Works Children, youth and adults are diverted from the court system and/or incarceration through guidance counseling, personal development workshops and referral assistance.

Those referred into our program are provided a personal IMPACT counselor who develops an individualized case plan with specific treatment goals and strategies to be achieved while a part of the program. The assigned counselor will meet with the client to evaluate treatment needs, set goals and provide additional support to insure that each person in the program achieves their stated goals. A wide range of treatment services are available to each program participant to further assure their success and development.

SCHOOL DROPOUT PREVENTION

Project IMPACT offers special programs and support services designed to encourage troubled youth to remain in school. This program interfaces with the schools’ “At-Risk” program, school counselors and the Child Welfare Attendance Office. Program and support services include: Drop-out prevention workshops, guidance counseling, family forums, and career workshops, networking with other support agencies, relocation assistance, and advocacy and tutoring.

Why All Parents Need Education

All people can benefit from education and the reminder of important tools needed for healthy living. Regardless of who you are or what your family dynamic is, expanding your education can always lead to improved communication and relationship. This is where Project IMPACT can assist in both you and your family.

How Our Parent Education Program Works 

The program is designed to assess high risk parenting and child rearing attitudes among adults and adolescents with the hopes of assisting the parent to better cope with their changing responsibilities.  The program focuses on four basic types of dysfunctional parent/child interactions based on AAPI evaluation and PET curriculum:

  • Inappropriate developmental expectations of children
  • Lack of empathic awareness of children needs
  • Attitudes concerning the use of corporal punishment
  • Reversing parent/child family roles

 

 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Domestic violence is a, physical, emotional and spiritual injury cause by an intimate partner. It is recognized as a major social and health problem of our time. It is a pervasive problem experience by members of every socioeconomic, cultural, and ethic group. 0ne way to address the problem of domestic violence is to train and teach women and men to identify overburdened families and to increase their understanding of the dynamics of abuse.

Project IMPACT’s Domestic Violence program is an intervention that help individuals who are caught in the cycle of abuse.  We service both the abuser and the victim. Our program addresses at risk practices that could lead to death, disability, injury, and the involvement with the criminal justice system. In addition, Project IMPACT provides services to children who have witness domestic violence and may be negatively affected in terms of their cognitive,               social and psychological development

ANGER MANAGEMENT

English/Spanish Classes
Anger Management and healthy expression of anger is the key to violence prevention, conflict resolution, promoting tolerance and bridging differences. Project IMPACT teaches strategies for recognizing anger and provides healthy, constructive avenues for the expression and management of anger. The overall objective of this program is to diffuse anti-social behavior on the part of the clients by teaching them to recognize and deal with anger in healthy ways.
